Three Singles, Then a Four-Song EP Where Every Track Ends Inside Three Minutes

Love You the Same is the shortest song on the new EP from Geedo, at two minutes and 29 seconds. It also carries the heaviest subject: a love that holds through ageing and memory loss. It was the third of three singles Geedo released across 2026 before Love Letters arrived on 11 September. Together, the four songs make a compact case for alternative R&B as a home for love songs about staying.

Geedo’s Love You the Same sits in the R&B playlist below, and the Geedo artist profile keeps a record of every feature so far. Love Letters reached this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news sites. Press play on the EP, then keep reading for the lineage behind it.

Geedo Builds Love Letters on the Alternative R&B Lineage That Turned the Love Song Inward

The Wave

The lineage behind Love Letters runs back to 2012. That year, Frank Ocean released Channel Orange, which writers still name among the records that defined alternative R&B. In 2017, Daniel Caesar released the debut album Freudian, with guest vocals from Kali Uchis and H.E.R. Then in 2022, Steve Lacy took Bad Habit to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song mixed lo-fi R&B with bedroom pop.

That is the wave Geedo is working in. It favours soft-spoken arrangements and close vocals. Its best songs describe one feeling well rather than every feeling at once. The lineage also treats indie pop and R&B as neighbours rather than rivals.

Where Geedo Fits

Geedo describes the music as alternative pop and R&B, built on warm, atmospheric production and honest vocals. Love Letters holds to that across four songs. In order, they are Lost in Your Ocean, With You, Love You the Same and My Love. None of them reaches three minutes. The longest, My Love, closes the EP at two minutes and 56 seconds. In total, the record runs for about ten and a half minutes.

The rollout was patient. Lost in Your Ocean came out as a single on 27 March 2026. With You followed on 15 May, and Love You the Same arrived on 24 July. By the time the EP landed in September, three quarters of it had already had its own moment. That pacing suits songs this short and this personal. Each one gets room to be heard on its own before it joins the others.

The first single has travelled furthest. On YouTube, Geedo introduced Lost in Your Ocean as the first letter from the EP. Its visualiser has since passed 98,000 views there. At the end of September, Geedo also marked the song passing 100,000 streams on Spotify. It was the first Geedo song to reach that number.

Geedo and Love Letters Share a Lineage With Daniel Caesar, Steve Lacy and Frank Ocean

Adjacent Acts

The clearest neighbour is Daniel Caesar. Get You, the 2016 single with Kali Uchis, built its song around devotion and a slow, unhurried groove. Love Letters shares that refusal to rush a love song. Steve Lacy is the second neighbour, because Bad Habit showed how a bedroom pop frame can carry R&B feeling. That is close to the blend Geedo describes. Frank Ocean is the third, as a model of intimate writing that lets a small detail carry a large emotion.

Love You the Same is where that last connection matters most. A song about loving someone through memory loss could easily turn heavy. At two and a half minutes, however, it says what it needs to and stops.

Before Love Letters

Geedo’s catalogue goes back further than this EP. On Apple Music, Your Body dates from July 2023. Crazeman, a collaboration with Caleb Awiti, followed in April 2024, and Ride for You in May 2024. Next came the four-song EP Aches and Echoes in May 2025, which Geedo’s own website calls the debut EP. On Spotify, Geedo now has about 20,300 monthly listeners. The four songs from Love Letters lead the artist’s most popular tracks there.

Who Love Letters Is For

Love Letters is for listeners who come to R&B for intimacy rather than spectacle. It is also for anyone who likes love songs short and direct. Fans of the soft-focus end of alternative R&B will settle into it easily. It will sit comfortably in a late-evening playlist next to the artists above. Above all, it suits anyone who has wanted a love song about staying rather than falling.

BlackSounds.News curator team: “The smartest choice on Love Letters is length. Four songs, none of them past three minutes. The one about memory loss is the shortest of all. Geedo trusts a small, warm arrangement to carry a big feeling. That trust is the whole lineage this EP belongs to.”
