Beg Po Tempu: How Boom Bap Built Czelovek's Road From Minsk to Warsaw
The Former Slozhnie Rapper Carries Minsk’s 2000s Underground Into a Warsaw Boom Bap Single
In April 2012, the Minsk rap duo Slozhnie released a sixteen-track album, then split up four months later. One half of that duo now records in Warsaw as Czelovek. Beg Po Tempu, a boom bap single first released on 20 April 2023, carries that history into a new city.
Czelovek’s Beg Po Tempu now sits in our Hip-Hop, Rap, Boom Bap playlist below, beside the records that shaped the sound, and the rapper’s full run of coverage is on Czelovek’s artist profile. The single came to BlackSounds.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Press play, then read on for the lineage behind it.

Minsk’s Late-2000s Rap Underground Gave Czelovek a Start in the Duo Slozhnie
Boom bap is a New York sound before it is anything else. The name imitates the beat itself. The style took shape on records of the late 1980s and early 1990s, where a producer and an MC often carried the whole song. From there it travelled, and by the late 2000s Minsk had a rap underground of its own.
Slozhnie formed there in 2008 as a duo of Murovei and Dufu, the rapper who records today as Czelovek. Their album За шестым слоем, roughly behind the sixth layer, came out on 29 April 2012. It ran to sixteen tracks, with The Chemodan Clan on Над волей and Bless of Shahmen on Слоеный. By August 2012 the duo had split. Murovei then went solo, starting with an album called Сольный. Even now, the Czelovek Facebook page lists Damad as the name used in Slozhnie.
The name Czelovek is the Russian word for a person, человек, written in Polish spelling. Similarly, the YouTube channel shows both forms side by side. Its hashtags read like a map: rap, reggae, Minsk, hip-hop and Warsaw. Meanwhile, Raggaliga, the handle used on YouTube, SoundCloud and X, is also the title of a track.

Beg Po Tempu Pairs the Former Slozhnie Rapper With Producer Vic Grimes on a Classic Boom Bap Beat
Warsaw is the base now. The SoundCloud profile lists the city next to a credit for dub vocals. A short clip on the channel, Moja propiska, bills itself as a hip-hop poem from Minsk to Warsaw. Propiska was the residence registration of the Soviet system, so it makes a pointed title for a piece about changing countries.
Beg Po Tempu keeps the old shape. Czelovek wrote it and raps the lead, Vic Grimes produced the beat, and Sunny Siners mastered it. In other words, that is the classic boom bap arrangement: one voice over one producer’s track. The verses ride the beat with confident control rather than crowding it.
The song has stayed in the catalogue rather than passing through it. Spotify carries a 2025 remaster next to the original. Around it sit newer releases, including the albums Kniga emocij in 2024 and Kniga emocij #2 in 2025. There are also tracks made with Sum, such as Wodymutnye, Galanthus and Taknado.
Outside listeners found it too. In December 2023, the French site IGGY Magazine greeted the single as a return after a decade away. Inspotmusic also put it in its Daily Discovery 88 selection.

Gang Starr, Molesta Ewenement and Murovei Mark the Lines Running Into Beg Po Tempu
The template comes from Gang Starr. Houston-born producer DJ Premier and Boston rapper Guru were one of the most influential MC-and-producer duos of the golden age. For example, their records include Mass Appeal and Take It Personal. Slozhnie were a duo in the same mould, and Beg Po Tempu still works that way: one rapper, one beatmaker, nothing in between.
Warsaw has its own line, too. Molesta Ewenement formed in the city in 1995. Their 1998 debut Skandal made them a national name through singles such as Armagedon. Many count them among the founders of Polish street rap. As a result, Czelovek now works in a city whose boom bap history runs back more than thirty years.
The third line runs back to Minsk. Murovei, the other half of Slozhnie, has been solo since 2012. Today the two careers sit in different countries, with the same 2008 starting point.
For listeners who know boom bap through Gang Starr, Beg Po Tempu shows how far that sound has travelled. Start with the single, then move on to the two Kniga emocij albums.
BlackSounds.News’s curator team:
“Beg Po Tempu does its work in one minute and 52 seconds. One MC, one producer, and verses that say their piece and step aside. That economy is boom bap’s oldest discipline, and Czelovek has kept it from Minsk to Warsaw.”
