An American Hip-Hop Artist Writes the Lyrics and Shapes the Sound with Suno Studio

On Better Day (Are Coming), the second track on SNG‘s new album, the words belong to the man behind the name. The beat and the backing vocals came from Suno, the AI music platform, working to his direction. Better Day’s Are Coming, released on 29 October 2026, is ten tracks of melodic hip-hop built on that split of labour.

SNG’s Better Day (Are Coming), from the album Better Day’s Are Coming, is in our Southern hip-hop playlist below, with the full run of coverage on SNG’s artist profile. The album came to this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Listen to it first, then read on for the wave it comes from.

Suno Opened an AI Studio to Anyone in 2023, the Wave Behind SNG’s Better Day’s Are Coming

That split has a short history. Suno, a generative music platform built in Cambridge, Massachusetts, became widely available on 20 December 2023. Give it a prompt and it returns a finished song, with vocals and instrumentation included.

The record business pushed back, then started to deal. The Recording Industry Association of America sued Suno for copyright infringement. By September 2026 it had settled with Warner Music Group and BMG and signed licensing deals with both. Universal Music Group and Sony Music were still pursuing it.

The tools kept moving through all of it. Suno Studio 2.0 arrived in August 2026. A month later the company replaced its models with a new family built with industry partners. This album comes out of that moment.

SNG Wrote Better Day’s Are Coming Himself and Released It Through His Own SNG Music Group

So who is behind the name? SNG grew up in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and now works from Jonesboro, Georgia, United States. He founded and owns SNG Music Group LLC, the independent company that puts the releases out. Its motto is short: real music, real stories, real purpose.

The story behind that motto is on his own cover art. The artwork for Life of a gemini carries a line of thanks for the day he was shot in the back of the head and kept breathing, and under it a promise: from the pain came the purpose.

SNG, credited as Rashaun Unique Nichols, wrote the words and music of Better Day (Are Coming). Suno made the beat and the backing vocals, and generative AI produced the rest of the audio under his direction. His own site says the same of the whole catalogue. He writes the lyrics and leads the concepts, while Suno Studio helps shape selected instrumentals, vocals and sounds.

The tools also explain the pace. Since 5 July 2026 SNG has released an album, Life of a gemini, and 19 singles. The six-track Only Way Out EP followed on 5 October. Better Day’s Are Coming followed three weeks later, ten tracks and 35 minutes long.

It opens with Standing Strong (Team Usa) and closes on Right In Your Palms. In between, the titles keep to survival and loyalty, from What I Go Thru (W.I.G.T) to Make it Last (Money Make Em Change). Put Da City On (AP) is a two-minute salute to home. The storytelling comes from the street, and the message underneath it is resilience and hope.

Rod Wave and Xania Monet Sit on Either Side of SNG and Better Day’s Are Coming

On the sound side, the lineage runs through Rod Wave. The Florida singer and rapper is recognised as a pioneer of trap-soul. His 2019 single Heart on Ice went viral on TikTok before reaching number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Pain carried by melody, with hope at the end of it, is the template this album is built on.

On the method side, the closest neighbour is Xania Monet, the AI music project of Telisha “Nikki” Jones. Jones writes the lyrics and uses Suno to generate the music. In 2025 the project’s How Was I Supposed to Know? became the first AI song on a Billboard radio airplay chart. It entered Adult R&B Airplay at number 30.

SNG works the same way, with one difference. There is no invented singer here: the album puts his own story, under his own name, at the centre.

This album is for listeners who come to hip-hop for testimony rather than flexing. It also suits anyone tracking how AI tools are changing who gets to make a record.

BlackSounds.News’s curator team: “Start with Somehow Someway (Sum How). At four minutes and 54 seconds it is the longest track on the album, and it gives the writing the most room to breathe.”

Human words, machine-made sound and his own company’s name on the release. The line runs through one man’s story, and Better Day’s Are Coming is where it lands for now.
